Public Education

Outreach

Pasco County Mosquito Control District offers a free education program to all Pasco County Schools. The classroom programs are aimed at teaching students and educators about mosquitoes and how their lives can be affected by mosquitoes. Students get an opportunity to hear a presentation and participate in hands-on activities, which allows students to identify mosquitoes, understand the mosquito life cycle and observe different organisms that eat mosquitoes. Students also learn about the variety of methods being used around the county for controlling mosquitoes. A goal of the education program is having students return home and share information with their families, further helping us spread awareness.

We are also sharing information and spreading awareness with booths and presentations at:

  • Public Events
  • Home Owner Association Meetings
  • Club/Society Meetings
  • Organizations
  • Camps
  • Community Meetings
  • Career Nights
  • Great American Teach-In
  • County Fairs
  • Workshops
  • State and National Conferences
