Important Update Regarding PCMCD Board Elections
Pursuant to legislation enacted by the Florida Legislature in 2025, the Pasco County Mosquito Control District (PCMCD) will transition from countywide (at-large) elections for its Board of Commissioners to elections conducted by geographic subdistrict.
While PCMCD will continue to provide mosquito control services and public health protection throughout all of Pasco County, Board members will now be required to reside within designated subdistrict boundaries and will be elected only by voters residing within those respective subdistricts.
The Pasco County Board of County Commissioners was responsible for establishing the initial subdistrict boundaries, which have been adopted in accordance with state law.
The new subdistrict boundaries will be used beginning with the November 2026 General Election. Current Board members will continue to serve their existing terms as prescribed by law.
What this means for voters:
- The PCMCD will continue serving all residents of Pasco County.
- Beginning with the November 2026 General Election, voters will elect only the Commissioner representing their assigned subdistrict.
- Candidates for the Board of Commissioners must reside within the subdistrict they seek to represent.
- The Board of Commissioners will continue to govern PCMCD and oversee mosquito control operations countywide.
